Chau Doc Guide

Chau Doc Ferry Port

Found in the southern region of Vietnam, Chau Doc is a city laying in the An Giang Province and borders Cambodia. The port is primarily used to connect Vietnam and Cambodia, with many weekly crossings to Cambodia’s capital, Phnom Penh.

What is there to do in Chau Doc?

Masked as just a transport link to Cambodia, there is much more to Chau Doc than ferry terminals and ships. Myriad of colours decorate the streets, presenting authentic shops sandwiched between bustling cafes and restaurants. Much like the vibrant architecture, the locals bring much life to the city; head to the array of markets to find specialist gifts supplied by welcoming stallholders. The food market is a particular highlight, especially for anyone who has a taste for alluring blends of exotic herbs and spices. The entire city may exude beauty, yet there are the obvious standout landmarks: Ba Chua Xu Temple and the Mubarak Mosque showcase the history and culture synonymous with Vietnam, and for an insight into the country’s religious values, make sure to visit Hang Pagoda for an empowering experience in part of the country’s most glorious landscape. After hours of sightseeing, Tra Su Bird Sanctuary is one of the most popular attractions, offering a refreshing change of pace.

How do visitors get around Chau Doc?

A bus service passes through the city, which is generally fairly affordable. Alternatively, walking is a viable option due to the relatively close proximity of the attractions.
