Port Denarua is on a small private island in the northwest corner of Fiji’s mainland, Viti Levu. It is the main gateway to some of the beautiful islets along the northwest coast and is just twenty minutes from Nadi International Airport by car. It is considered the island’s finest marina facility, offering restaurants, a spa, a large supermarket and a wide selection of shops. You can also book tours and activities inside the terminal. There are a number of luxurious hotels on Denarau Island where you can relax overnight before your journey as well.
Found on the southern tip of Tavewa Island, one of the many landmasses that form the Yasawa Islands archipelago off the coast of Fiji, is the Coconut Beach Resort. Once the site of a Copra plantation for the production of coconut oil, the island is now a holiday resort of largely unspoiled natural beauty. Long stretches of golden beaches curve around the coastline and verdant palm forests, humming with tropical wildlife, rise inland on gentle hills. The port on Coconut Beach is little more than a designated section of the south-facing beach, just a few minutes’ walk away from the facilities of the resort building. There are no roads or public transportation on the island meaning that the port can only be reached on foot. Currently only one service operates from the port in Coconut Beach. An Awesome Adventures Fiji line sails south to the port of Denarau on the Fijian mainland, a short catamaran trip that whisks passengers across the silver surface of the warm South Pacific Ocean.
