Long Beach Resort Guide

Long Beach Resort Ferry Port

Popular for its idyllic location right next to the beautiful beach on the coast of Matacawalevu Island, Long Beach Resort is one of the most sought after places to stay in Fiji. There is only one daily crossing to Denerau which lasts around four hours, creating an easy access to the mainland of Fiji. Much like many of the resorts around Fiji, Long Beach Resort takes advantage of the natural beauty of the land and sea surrounding the Yasawa Islands, offering tourists the chance to experience snorkelling, diving and hiking. It is primarily used by backpackers, creating a youthful, energetic vibe which isn’t always synonymous with the islands neighbouring Fiji. The rooms are mainly mixed dorms with up to eight beds, though there are also private cottages available for couples or solo travellers. Aside from the abundance of activities available, some visitors choose to just relax on the luxurious beaches or immerse themselves in Fijian culture by sampling some of the local food and drink. The beaches are perfect for embarking on a long, leisurely stroll; it is especially picturesque during sunset hours and provides an incredibly romantic setting. There are also opportunities to go on a tour of the local villages to really embrace traditional Fijian values. Guests are collected from the port by a service provided by the resort, creating a welcoming touch to those who are new to the island. A resort boat collects the passengers so they can witness the breath-taking views as soon as they arrive.
