Due to its poor economy failing to provide architectural support, Egersund Port is now regarded as a heritage site because of the stone bridges and archaic buildings. Located on the south coast of Norway, the port is much like the rest of Scandinavia with the brisk weather, making the Christmas market in the town increasingly popular. The only ferry route leaving from the port is to Hanstholm, a small town found on the north west coast of Denmark. The crossing is known as one of the quickest and most efficient connections between Norway and Denmark, with the sailing lasting only 2 hours 45 minutes. Egersund Port terminal is around 3km from the train and bus station, with a bus service readily available to transport passengers to and from the terminal.
