Gdynia Guide

Located on the Baltic Sea coast, the Polish city of Gdynia is in the Pomeranian Voivodeship and is an important port in Gdansk Bay. The city hosts a number of cultural events each year. The annual Gdynia Film Festival attracts many visitors to the city and also hosted the International Random Film Festival at the end of 2014. The city also hosts one of the largest music festivals in Europe. The open'er Festival attracts many hip-op, rock and electronic music acts. Another important summer event in Gdynia is the Viva Beach Party, which is a large two-day techno party made on Gdynia's Public Beach.

From the city's port there are regular ferry services between Poland and Sweden. A single ferry service, run by Stena Lines, operates from the port to Karlskrona in Sweden. Crossings take place twice a day and have a journey time of 12 hours.
