Manila is the capital of the Philippines, lying on the west coast of the country. Unconventional transport is on the agenda in Manila; jeepneys swarm the city, which are similar to a pick-up truck, carrying many passengers at a time on a fixed route. They don’t detour for any passengers, but are a very cheap way to get closer to a more desired destination. Regular taxis are also fairly inexpensive, and considering the city’s chaotic nature, they are oftentimes the easiest and most convenient option.

Cebu City Ferry Port

Cebu Port is the largest domestic port in the Philippines; situated on the east coast it borders the Mactan Channel, a narrow strait between Cebu and the Mactan Islands. Cebu Port belongs in Cebu City, the oldest city of the Philippines and the country’s first capital. Over the years it has transcended into a hub of activity, with many tourists flocking over to witness its historic monuments and stunning architecture. Being a purely domestic port, Cebu Port only serves to other islands belonging to the Philippines. Five companies are in operation from Cebu Port, all offering daily crossings to Bohol Island Port, Cagayan De Oro Port, Danao Port and Ilo-ilo Port. Each ferry route runs around one or two times per day, typically leaving in the early morning and lasting for around two hours. Cebu Port is popular among passengers for its recently renovated canteen area and free Wi-Fi for customers.
