Lianyungang Guide

Lianyungang Ferry Port

Found in the north eastern province of Jiangsu, Lianyungang is a coastal town found on the east coast of China. Lianyungang Port is one of the quieter ports in China; there are only two crossings per week, both to Incheon on the north west coast of South Korea and last for around 26 hours. Lianyungang is unique in that its climate is fairly similar all year round, never becoming particularly hot or cold, therefore it has a constant stream of tourism. The natural scenery amid the pleasant climate makes for an idyllic setting, especially in spring when flowers seemingly cover the entirety of the city. Those who enjoy keeping active will enjoy the nearby mountains, particularly the famous Huaguo Mountain, which hosts perfect routes for hiking and offers breath-taking views of the spectacular waterfall. For a more tranquil experience, the natural hot springs are one of the most desired parts of the region and can easily tempt visitors into staying for a few hours. Many tourists end up staying in Lianyungang for a few days longer than expected, mostly because of the beautiful surroundings and luxurious hotels. In the summer, many tourists head to the beach to experience the unforgettable festivals and water sport activities. The city has fairly good transport connections, including the commonly used high speed trains which stop off at both of Lianyungang’s railway stations. There is also a shuttle bus in operation, taking passengers around popular areas of the city, however, it doesn’t stop near the ferry terminal. For transport to the port, it is best advised to get a taxi, which is usually relatively affordable if a price is agreed before entry.
