Siremar has been operating passenger ferry services between Sicily in southern Italy and the surrounding islands of Ustica and Pantelleria as well as the Aeolian, Aegadian and Pelagie island groups since 1975.
Siremar’s fleet of 18 vessels comprises both modern hydrofoils and large ferries, which are used for the longer routes. The biggest ship, Isola di Stromboli, is able to carry up to 802 passengers with a top speed of 33 knots, offering a fast and enjoyable journey.
All of their ferries boast comfortable seating with full air-conditioning as standard, too, and they can hold a great number of vehicles ranging from motorcycles and cars to campervans and trucks, making it even easier to travel around some of Italy’s most popular islands.
You are permitted to travel with animals on Siremar’s ferries as well, but, aside from guide dog users, passengers must stand in the allocated reserved areas or put their pets in the kennels provided.
