Toremar connects the coast of Tuscany, in northwest Italy, with numerous islands of the Tuscan Archipelago including Elba, Giglio, Capraia and Pianosa, in the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Set up in 1976, Toremar (Toscana Regionale Marittima) offers year-round, punctual, comfortable and reliable ferry crossings, even in adverse weather conditions. Each year, the company transports around 1.5 million passengers, carrying out over 8,000 crossings. In 2011, Toremar was acquired by the huge Italian ferry operator Moby Lines, who now operates the service alongside their own ferries every day of the year.
Made up of 8 modern ferries, the Toremar fleet is one of the most contemporary and well-equipped in Tuscany. As standard, each ship was designed with roll stabilisers, making the sailing as smooth as possible, whatever the conditions of the Tyrrhenian. The on-board features include full air-conditioning, children’s play areas, cafeterias, sun decks and disabled access. The passenger capacity for the largest ferry, Rio Marina Bella reaches 900, while the smallest, Schiopparella Jet accommodates 145.
